Salsa Fest at Serenbe

We will be at Serenbe this Saturday 8/1. Please come out for salsafest! There will be carnitas and tacos from 11-1 plus a salsa making contest!!

We had a wonderful Saturday at Serenbe on 7/18. The weather was perfect! We will be back there on 8/1 for the 4th annual Salsafest from 9-1. This Saturday we will be at the Studioplex Market in Inman park. Check it out at www.studioplexmarket.blogspot.com . See you there!

Glenwood Park Farmers Market

We will be at the Glenwood Park Farmers Market this weekend July 11th and 12th. Please come out and see us! We had a great time at the Serenbe Farmers Market last weekend and will be back at Serenbe on July 18th.

About Us

It was a love of plants that brought Adam and Kara together 10 years ago. They met while working at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and have collaborated on innovative garden designs ever since.

Adam began his career after studying Botany at Miami University and earning his BS in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. He moved to Atlanta to work at the Atlanta Botanical Garden where he served as Curator of Tropical Plants. During his tenure, he created tropical plant displays and garden designs which earned him International publicity, including, El Espiritu D’ Inca, a large fountain design using hypertufa materials and focusing on tropical epiphytes and house in a Garden, a vertical garden depicting Picasso’s cubist painting in collaboration with the High Museum of Art.

He then worked as Head of Horticulture for the Chattahoochee Nature Center, where he propagated endangered native plants and installed gardens for wildlife, including Georgia’s Living Wetlands, one of the largest man made carnivorous plant bogs in the southeast. His garden designs for the Southeastern Flower Show earned Adam numerous awards, including the Bulkley Medal, the Ladybird Johnson award, the Chicago Horticultural Society award and the Garden Club of America trophy.

Currently, Adam works as a Regional Manager for a large nursery in TX and continues incorporating native plants and unusual drought tolerant succulents in garden designs that evoke the tranquility in nature. His love for tropical plants still sneaks into some designs!

Kara studied horticulture at the University of Georgia honing her skills in micropropagation, taxonomy and floriculture. She worked closely with Dr. Allen Armitage in the UGA trial gardens evaluating new cultivars for Georgia gardens. She represented UGA at the ASHS conference placing high in plant identification.

After graduation, Kara worked as Greenhouse Horticulturist at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens where she has served for over 9 years. She now holds the Curator of Desert Collections title and takes care of tissue culture propagation responsibilities. Her designs for the Desert House in the Dorothy Fuqua Conservatory and other rotating displays has earned her accolades from the horticulture community, though don’t press her on it because she’s modest.

Together, they hope to create designs which will inspire the gardener in everyone and add a little beauty to the world.
